Italian Threads: MITA Textile Design 1926–1976, Catalogue, Estorick Collection, 2020
Catalogue for the exhibition “Italian Threads: MITA Textile Design 1926–1976” at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art, organised in collaboration with MITA Archive.
MITA (Manifattura Italiana Tappeti Artistici) was a celebrated Italian textile firm which earned its reputation by collaborating with some of Italy’s most talented artists and designers – amongst these Gio Ponti, Fortunato Depero, Arturo Martini, Emanuele Luzzati, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Giò Pomodoro, and Ettore Sottsass Jr.
The catalogue uses four-colour process for image reproduction, and a duotone separation process for reproducing MITA adverts in-between essays, as well as the cover artwork, which is a reworking of a rug design by Depero.
Triangular indents are used throughout the book's text sections, as well as for pagination.
120×180mm, paperback, 6 colour offset, 144 pages
