Primitive Propositions, artist publication, Jeffrey Charles Henry Peacock, 2016

"Primitive Propositions: A Proposal for Exhibition" is a collaboration with artist collective Jeffrey Charles Henry Peacock, containing contributions from Terry Atkinson (Art & Language), Michael Hampton, and Matthew Poole. It is intended as an artists proposal, a portable exhibition, and an art object in and of itself.

The publication, which takes the form of an A5 ring binder, was added to, amended, and corrected over a two-year period, with various text-based inserts utilising a wide variety of printing processes and materials. The organisation and design of the publication reflects the relative inaccessibility of much of the written content, by appearing as a dry, bureaucratic object, and by insisting on an effort of physical engagement from the reader in order to simply access the content. A series of posters from the publication were also regularly distributed as inserts with Art Monthly magazine during the production period.

Launched as an edition of 350 copies at East Street Arts in Leeds, October 2015, coinciding with the opening of The British Art Show. Launched a second time at the Westminster Reference Library in London, December 2016, with some additional content added.
